Whether you own or rent your home, it’s nice to take pride in its appearance and to keep it feeling homely and cosy. It’s fun to try to put your own unique stamp on things in terms of the interiors and décor and it can really make your house a home.
Some people choose to be conservative with their interiors or perhaps they’re constrained by their lease/renting agreement but even then it’s possible to make the place unique. Inject some personality through the use of wall art or funky and colourful cushions and throws; all of these are generally inexpensive and widely available so it’s easy to do.
If you own your home, you can choose to carry out a large-scale project when budget allows. Buying all new furniture is one great way to do this. Ouch! OK… if the budget or available time doesn’t stretch that far, consider doing just one room at a time. That way, you can contain your costs but still get the satisfaction that comes from seeing a total transformation.
Taking on projects like this can be fun but if you concentrate on smaller projects at a time, it’s likely you’ll get better results. The guys at EZ Living have put together this infographic which details some of the interesting interiors trends seen so far this year. Check it out!
So are you going to buy into the Pantone tones of this year? Obviously, the choice is up to you. But, as with everything, it’s important not to follow trends just because they’re trends; pick and choose those that you like and those that will suit your home and budget.
Trends can change so fast, but the Scandi’ influence continues to be popular so those types of furniture pieces might be good pieces to invest in. Regardless of your style choices, think carefully about what will suit your home and your family tastes!
Thanks to the team at EZ Living for sharing their infographic!
