While it may be true that babies have far bigger needs than adults, their mothers have needs, too. So if you’re a mom like me who juggles multiple tasks at the same time – taking care of the baby while making sure that the rest of the family is not feeling left out – anything, and I mean ANYTHING, that can make our lives a  lot easier are always welcome.

I don’t know about you but I have had a lot of encounters with emergency cases – and by emergency, I mean not having a proper changing table when my baby and I badly need one. But thanks to the genius behind this project, I am now one happy mom.

This DIY baby changing mat has changed the way I clean up on the go. You’ve got pockets lined with fresh diapers and wipes! For a little bit of sewing, this is more than just a bargain.

You’ll need these materials to make a baby changing mat:
  • ⅔ yard cotton (main)
  • ½ yard cotton (pockets)
  • ⅔ yard clear vinyl or iron-on vinyl
  • ½ yard batting
  • hair elastic
  • large button
  • double-fold bias tape

And these tools:

  • sewing machine

A Statement of Solidarity

Our hearts are broken by the horrific terrorist attack that occurred yesterday in Sydney, where 16 innocent lives were taken during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach.

We stand in absolute solidarity with the Jewish community in Australia and around the world. This was an act of pure hatred, designed to terrorize and divide.

We unequivocally condemn all forms of racism, antisemitism, and religious intolerance. We condemn the radical extremism that drives such unconscionable violence. We condemn those who would target people for their faith, their heritage, or their identity.

In Australia and everywhere in the world, there is no place for this hatred. There is no justification for this violence. There is no tolerance for this evil.

To our Jewish friends and neighbors: we see you, we stand with you, and we grieve with you.

May the memories of those lost be a blessing.
